Toronto ComiCon 2014 Sketches
Here's some sketches from Toronto ComiCon 2014 back in March. I know. Better late than never, I suppose.
I'm learning to enjoy convention sketches. I've been doing them for years now, and I've always sort of eek'd my way through them. Conventions, especially busy ones, are environments I have trouble drawing well in. I feel pressure to crank them out quick, so often when I look back on con-sketches I'm usually disgusted with myself.
The few from Toronto ComiCon though are actually pretty okay, all things considered. I took these with my crummy phone, but hey...

Big Sexy Happenings This Week...
Recently I sat down with my friend and creative partner, Fred Kennedy, for another of his podcasts wherein we discuss working on indie comics. Joining me this time at the indie creator roundtable were Gibson Quarter and Ricky Lima. Both great dudes, both well spoken and insightful. It was a good a chat.
If you haven't already checked out these "Fredcasts" you would do well to listen to a few--or all of them. Fred's interviewed many amazing guests, the majority of them comic book superstars, and each of them infinitely more interesting than myself.
That said, you should also totally listen to the one I just did, which you can right here. I have not listened to it however, and I probably won't, because listening to my own voice is torture I don't need at the moment.
In other Fred & Adam related news, this weekend is Toronto ComiCon, and you can bet your booties we'll be there. At table P24 in fact, selling copies of our newly reprinted Teuton: Volume One!
But if you're not hitting up the old comic convention this weekend, you can always snag a copy of Teuton over at our Big Sexy Comic Shop. We have a deal running till Friday, 8th where you get a free colour sketch with every purchase!

Toronto Comicon In Review

Our Big Sexy Comics table, A-94, was a stones throw away from the legendary George Perez. Even from a distance he is visibly one of the kindliest men I've ever seen.
Across from us sat an impeccably wonderful collection of folks that included Gibson Quarter, David Cutler, Keiren Smith, Ty Templeton (constantly surrounded by a corona of adoring fans as always), and Leonard Kirk.
Good company was in no short supply. I had a blast palling around with writer Phil McClorey and artist Brian Evniou. I also had the great pleasure of chatting with Phil Jimenez, who is as skilled as he is charming. My good friends Doug and Steph returned from PEI and paid me a very warm visit.
The highlight by far was seeing my daughter Rosalind Belle strut down the aisle in her Batman t-shirt. She was awe-struck by the sights and sounds. Just recently we watched The Empire Strikes Back together, so at the age of 2 she is already Star Wars crazed. Seeing the very impressive R2-D2, the Stormtroopers, and Darth Vader left her jazzed. Sitting with me at my table she played pretend lightsabers and belted out an inventive rendition of the Empire theme music. Suck on that, John Williams.
The show was otherwise successful. We sold some books and met great people. Big thanks to my table-mates Fred, Jeff, and Andre.

TORONTO COMICON!
One more sleep until the Toronto Comicon, boys and girls!

I'll be there with Fearless Fred, Andre Fernandes (artist of Big Sexy Comics' HELOS), and Jeff Brown (writer of Flag of Tears and editor of Dorkshelf.com). Stop by and give us love and money!
We will of course be selling copies of TEUTON Vol.1 for $10 each!
Pick up a commission from Andre or myself!
I'll be selling a limited print run (50 signed and numbered) of my Dark Knight Rises illustration! Get 'em before they're gone!
